Commissions

Commission Your Favorite Place in my unique style!

Work with me to turn your favorite place into a unique, custom artwork. Whether you have one photo or a hundred, or even just a pin on a map I’ll work with you on your preferred size and color palette. Depending on the project, I’ll provide a mood board of color samples and/or a quick sketch before creating your custom piece.

Minimum pricing starts at $160 for a 4×6 artwork, not including tax and shipping.

Policies
The cost of commissioned artwork depends on the size of the artwork, the number of paintings you’d like to commission, and your shipping location.
Due to the additional work involved in a custom piece (consulting and correspondence) the cost to commission an artwork is a little higher than my standard pricing.

My minimum commission cost is $160, not including WA state tax or shipping. You will receive a quote for the project that you are considering once you submit the information below.

How do we start for a Commission?
Contact me with a description of your project and include your preferred size, timeline (4 week minimum) and if you have any images you want used as a reference.

50% of the total fee is due upfront before any work begins on the project. This fee is non-refundable. Once we agree to work together on your project I’ll send you an invoice for the commission deposit to get started. When I’ve completed your custom artwork, I’ll send you an image of the final piece. Once you approve, you’ll send me your final payment and I’ll prepare it for delivery or shipping.

Due to the custom, collaborative nature of the projects, commissioned paintings cannot be returned. However, I take steps to ensure that we are going in the right direction along the way.
For instance, after you schedule your commission and pay your deposit we will have a consultation via phone or email to discuss the project and make sure we are on the same page visually with a sketch or color mockup. During the creation process I will send you one or two work-in-progress shots. Feedback on the piece is welcome during this stage and a revision can be made. Once a painting reaches the final image stage any further changes or edits will require extra fees.
Note: It is very uncommon for me to receive requests for more than one revision. In fact, I usually don’t receive any revision requests. Most of my clients are thrilled with their paintings!

How long will it take to get my commissioned painting?
This can vary depending on my current schedule and the size and complexity of your commission. Typically you’ll be able to receive your commissioned painting within 4-5 weeks of the start date.
